What is Melisma?

Melisma is the singing of a single syllable of text while moving between several different notes in succession. Music sung in this style is referred to as melismatic, as opposed to syllabic, in which each syllable of text is matched to a single note. (Source)

Who are we?

Your hosts (Ale and Arantza for the ease of English-speakers) are two flatmates going into their last university year. After at least two years of talking about lacking a space we could freely discuss the things we are knowledgeable about or passionate and interested in, we’ve decided to finally create that space ourselves- hence, the kitchen floor podcast.

The best way we can describe what listening to this podcast will be like is saying you will be listening in on our conversations, the good, the smart, the very very dumb. So if you’ve ever wanted to know what girls talk about when they’re alone, or you’d like to know what it’s like to have a friend you can talk to about pretty much everything, this is the right spot for you.

We’d love you to come along on this, very stereotypically, journey to find ourselves. Stick around, you just might fall in love with one of us ;)

Welcome to the kitchen floor!
